One of my clients recently asked me whether or not she should upgrade from the Essentials Retainer because she had a number of things she wanted to do in the next two months. She asked me for some examples of how other people use the retainer and their “Marci Time.”

If you are considering a retainer, these might inspire you, too!

How you might use the Essentials Retainer ($99/month)

This level is great if you need help with things like:

  • Images: Choosing images that go well with both the theme of your blog post and align with your brand, cropping the images properly, so the blog's look and feel is consistent from post to post, properly labeling and uploading the images to the website.

  • Preparing the post for publishing: Getting the post you've onto the website, formatting for easy reading, adding a meta description, adding links to your other posts, and adding links to other web resources that you might have referenced, etc.

  • Updating content on pages: Perhaps it's time to update something on your About page. You know it's supposed to be easy, but you couldn't be bothered. You would rather just send the new paragraph and have Marci do it for you.

  • Updating a Form: Perhaps you already have a contact form that's working fine, but you want to change the wording in the confirmation email. You know it's supposed to be easy, and there is a video tutorial showing you how, but you couldn't be bothered. You would rather just send the update to Marci so she can do it for you.

Clients who have enjoyed this level typically publish on average 2 blog posts a month. We talk once a month to make sure I support you with what is essential.

How you might use the Building Momentum Retainer ($333/month)  

This level is great if you need help with things like:

  • Anything listed above

  • More Blog Posts: Perhaps you're more prolific, typically posting 3-4 times a month, and need help with the images and preparing the post for publishing as described above. Maybe you even know how to do it but would rather focus on writing.

  • Social Media Prep: Perhaps you've got a handle on writing the blog posts and even like engaging with your audience on social media but need someone to help you start repurposing the content so that each blog post is generating several different social media posts.

  • Newsletter: Perhaps you have a newsletter that goes out once a month, and you need help getting all the important bits formatted nicely into your email marketing platform. (MailerLite, Mailchimp, FluentCRM)

Clients who have enjoyed this level are usually focused on streamlining their processes to build momentum and then settle into a cadence that works for them. Usually, after a few months, they take over the work and or bring in a staff member/virtual assistant to take over. We talk once a month to make sure we know the order of priority so that we can get to as much as possible.

How you might use the Massive Transformation Retainer ($888/month)  

This level is great if you need help with things like:

  • Anything listed above: Perhaps you are already on a retainer and know that you need someone to get in and do it all for you.

  • New Services: Perhaps you've got a new service, and you need several new pages on your site to go with it.

  • Sales page: Perhaps you've got the content and even an idea for what it should look like, but the idea of figuring out how to format it onto a page gives you a headache.

  • Reviews/Testimonials: Perhaps you got a few people to review your work or provide a testimonial. Now you want to have a page devoted to this and also sprinkle testimonials thought out your site.

  • Freebies/Optin/Lead Magnet: You've got a new audio recording and PDF that you want to make available on your site as a gift to encourage people to join your list.

Clients who have enjoyed this level of support are generally happy with their website but need to take some massive action, and they don't want to worry about running out of "Marci Time" in the middle of the month. We talk twice a month to make sure we are on the same page and that everything is moving forward as planned. Please note that this retainer is not meant not for redesigning a website. It's for people who are ready to add more features to the site we already built.
