Manifesting and having fun
This morning I woke up at 4:30AM which is not unusual. Though I was wide awake, I felt tired. I put a lot of hours in on my computer yesterday and my eyes felt dry and gummy. I knew I didn’t have the energy to open an intuitive session for a client. I just wanted to sit with the energy and perhaps dialogue further with my guides about my own budding business.
They key message I pulled out of the session today was in regards to manifesting. My guides challenged me to have fun with manifesting. I thought I was already doing that by focusing on manifesting a project I love and want to bring forth into the world. Their response was – “Yes, you are doing it and you are helping people and…are you having fun?” It startled me. My eyes were wide awake.
I continued the dialogue for a few more minutes and after closing the session, the question still stood there on the page. Are you having fun? Sure, I’m enjoying my work. That said, I had to admit that I have been a little serious and driven the last few weeks. I forgot to invite the mischievous, playful universe to join me on the journey.
I knew making room for more fun in my daily routine was the reminder I needed for today. I closed my eyes to sink into the message and the image of an animal peeking out from behind a flower surfaced. I opened my eyes, made a cup of tea and began the search for the photo with that image as a guide.
I’m sharing how I chose the photo for today’s message because it is an example of how trusting in the process always yields unique and appropriate results. I never find the exact image I’m given in meditation. It simply serves as a guiding light to get me there. Sometimes it takes time and feels frustrating when the “right” picture does not appear. And then suddenly, unexpectedly, it does.
Today I started by searching for “peaking out from behind a flower” and got pictures of Mt. Rainier. An odd search result but one made just for me, I thought. I grew up in view of this mountain and used to sing silly songs to it. The mountain has always been a source of power for me and I feel it calling to me.
Inspired by the search results, I changed my key words to Mt Rainier. Along with fantastic views of the mountain, a hoary marmot from the squirrel family jumped out at me. I felt the shift in my chest and knew it was the perfect image. I purchased the photo and began formatting the quote card.
After making a quote card, I like to see if there is any correlation between the message I received and the meaning behind the fauna and flora in the photos. The hoary marmot isn’t in any of my books on animal spirits but squirrel is. From Ted Andrews I learned that “Squirrels are the masters at preparing, but they also are reminders that in our quest for our goals, we should always make time to socialize and play.” How perfect! Once again the universe had led me down an unexpected path to just the photo I needed.
What’s most amusing is that I didn’t realize until writing this up that I had misspelled “peeking” when I put in the original key words to search for a photo. I could go back and search for “peeking out from behind a flower” but it is not necessary. I love the hoary marmot and I hope you do, too!
